Reseller hosting refers to a system of selling hosting services through third-party resellers. Most often, a company or individual will open a reseller account with a web hosting company. That individual or company then becomes a `reseller` and can offer hosting directly to consumers through the web host. The reseller charges the customer for hosting and keeps the profits. In simplest terms, the reseller is renting (and paying for) space on a host?s server and then reselling that space, often at a higher price than a customer could get it if he or she bought directly from the web hosting company. The reseller typically handles billing but must rely on the hosting company for resolution of technical problems and to get additional web space. Reseller hosting is only needed if a website owner plans to resell the space he or she is paying the hosting company for.
